Chapter 24 Part 2
Tong Yan slept for more than an hour. He was sweating a bit, so Zhuo Xiang Ming wiped it off for him. Looking at the time, it was already half past two, he started calling out to Tong Yan: “Tong Tong….Tong Tong?”
Tong Yan took a while to wake up, but he covered his eyes and most of his face, demanding in a muffled voice: “Knock it off….”
Zhuo Xiang Ming: “Don’t go back to sleep.”
The room was dark and absolutely quiet, after Zhuo Xiang Ming had gotten out of bed, Tong Yan had arrested Zhuo Xiang Ming’s pillow, the alpha shirt still in his arms. This sleep was too deep, and Tong Yan was extremely reluctant to wake up.
Zhuo Xiang Ming called out to him, gently but persistently: “Tong Tong, are you a piglet? My mother is still waiting to go shopping with you… Tong Tong?”
Tong Yan shifted his hands and grumblingly opened his eyes, his eyelids and cheeks a little red from sleep, his long eyelashes flickering slowly. He turned his head reluctantly, looking at Zhuo Xiang Ming, he whispered: “Brother … you’re annoying.”
Zhuo Xiang Ming lifted the quilt and pulled his shirt out of Tong Yan’s arms, pinching his red face: “Go and wash your face.”
Tong Yan usually wasn’t a difficult person to wake up, but his sleep was very heavy today.
He didn’t understand why he slept so deeply, but Zhuo Xiang Ming did.
Alpha pheromones were roughly divided into three modes: sexual arousal, suppression and placation. Sexual arousal and suppression were the two most common forms, but the placation effect of alpha pheromones was also equally powerful. So far, no manmade drug could match it.
The placation effect was rare because it was essentially a process that was more intimate than sexual arousal–sexual arousal could occur between strange AO, but placation was only useful for an omega who fully trusted their alpha.
Therefore, it usually came out after marking, but because Tong Yan had a pheromone stress disorder, he needed to be pacified even if he wasn’t marked.
But now, a mere shirt could make him sleep so well. If they later….
Tong Yan came out with water droplets all over his face. Zhuo Xiang Ming threw away the shirt, promptly cutting off his thoughts.
Tong Yan shook the water out of his hair. He rarely behaved like this, so Zhuo Xiang Ming said: “Mischievous.”
Tong Yan leaned against him: “So uncomfortable, my head is still spinning.”
Zhuo Xiang Ming smoothly said: “Then don’t go out.”
He agreed at noon to go shopping with Lin Yue Hua in the afternoon. Lin Yue Hua was in high spirits, and Tong Yan also wanted to go. He had no close female relatives, his grandmothers from both parents had died long ago. Lin Yue Hua was the first one, so Tong Yan was actually especially willing to get close to her.
Tong Yan refused: “Can’t.”
Washing his face and brushing his teeth had driven away most of his sleep, he followed Zhuo Xiang Ming downstairs.
Zhuo Xiang Ming walked slowly, persistent for some reason: “Are you sure you want to go?”
Tong Yan: “I’m going.”
Zhuo Xiang Ming: “Are you sure you want to stroll around with my mother for three hours, and, believe it or not, not be able to move afterwards?”
Tong Yan was unconvinced: “We used to play football all afternoon and be just fine.”
Zhuo Xiang Ming looked back at him, and finally said: “Go on then.”
Lin Yue Hua wasn’t dressed formally, choosing to wear a rarely worn causal dress. The hair that she always wore pulled up was let loose, and she carried a small black handbag. She gave off a completely different atmosphere.
She pulled Tong Yan away from Zhuo Xiang Ming and said: “When it rains a few more times, the days will start to get colder. It’s just the right time to take Tong Tong out to buy something for the changing season. Are you staying home?”
Zhuo Xiang Ming: “Yes.”
He found the warning card and put it on Tong Yan’s chest. Tong Yan was a little reluctant. His stress disorder was almost negligible now, and he always felt like a pariah when he wore this out on the street.
Zhuo Xiang Ming saw his expression, and lowered his head to say, “Don’t wear it if you don’t want to, but you also can’t leave.”
Tong Yan glared up at him, but his eyes were too round, so it wasn’t very scary.
Zhuo Xiang Ming originally had one hand in his pocket, and his expression was serious. Seeing this, he couldn’t help but smile a bit, saying again, “Don’t go to any crowded places, okay?”
Lin Yue Hua came over, joking opportunistically: “Your mother knows that, don’t worry. I know he’s your treasure, I’ll definitely bring him back to you safely.”
Tong Yan blushed a little, but Zhuo Xiang Ming said: “Would you like me to go with you? I can carry your bags.”
Lin Yue Hua: “No need, no need. I have a chauffeur to carry those things. Besides, you don’t have the patience for my type of shopping. Stay here with your father and brother.” She also urged: “Keep an eye on Jia Shuo. Make sure he doesn’t antagonize the chickens in the backyard. If he gets a chance, the chaos in the yard would worry someone to death.”
Finally, the chauffeur carried Lin Yue Hua and Tong Yan away. Zhuo Xiang Ming sent them off all the way to the gate of the courtyard. When he could no longer see the car, he turned back into the house.
Tong Yan’s mother passed away a long time ago, and he had no aunts, so it was the first time a woman took him out shopping.
There were five people in total. Some managed the shopping bags, and some paid the bills, but they didn’t follow too closely. They waited outside the door, entering when Lin Yue Hua had almost made all her selections.
But this was also novel enough for Tong Yan.
When Tong Yang took him out to buy clothes, it was always uncomplicated and crude. Find a close enough size, point in a row from left to right. After visiting a handful of stores, it was enough to replace Tong Yan’s clothes for the season.
However, being crude had a crude advantage. At least no one held clothes up to his body to compare, and he didn’t need to change clothes like a spinning top.
After trying on three sets, Tong Yan collapsed, sitting in the changing room, questioning his life choices.
Obviously, his physical strength wasn’t terrible, but why was it so exasperating to go shopping?
In less than an hour, Lin Yue Hua was still radiant, and Tong Yan was already sighing mournfully.
Four hours later, the trunk of the limo was full. The back seat was basically full, only leaving enough room for Lin Yue Hua and Tong Yan to sit. Zhuo Xiang Ming waited outside the car door, happy to lift out a limp small O.
His facial expression management was quite up to par, but Lin Yue Hua couldn’t handle it, after she got out of the car, there was a blatant smile on her face: “Tong Tong still needs more exercise.”
The two got out of the car, and a few servants quickly came out of the house, taking the items out of the car. Lin Yue Hua stood aside and said to Zhuo Xiang Ming: “Tong Tong is tired out, take him up for a nap, dinner is at 8:30 today.”
“OK.” Zhuo Xiang Ming agreed and immediately turned to leave, but Tong Yan called out: “Auntie, I’m leaving first.”
Lin Yue Hua nodded smilingly, and the two left.
There was no one in the hall, after taking a few steps into the house, Zhuo Xiang Ming hugged Tong Yan up in a bridal carry, continuing to walk upstairs with nary a pause.
Tong Yan: “!”
How shameful, his face turned beet red instantly. It was too late for Tong Yan to be angry about his own weakness, stuttering, “W-what are you doing!”
Zhuo Xiang Ming had one arm around Tong Yan’s waist, the other arm hugging the hollows of his knees. Despite hearing his question, he still carried him up, saying, “You looked like you were going to faint.”
Tong Yan indeed felt like he was going to faint. His head was completely sober, but his waist ached, and his feet were cramped.
This shopping trip physically and mentally exhausted him, and he didn’t want to make any choices for a few hours.
Solid color or stripes? Leather or wool? Dark blue, dark green, or light blue? Embedded diamonds or gems?
If the final choice was all of them, then why did he have to compare?
Several minutes passed, Tong Yan was lying on the bed, still in the same position Zhuo Xiang Ming had put him down in. His face was wooden.
Zhuo Xiang Ming brought back a glass of water and looked at his appearance, his mouth twitching slightly. Finally, he said, “Do you understand now?”
Tong Yan gulped down more than half of the glass of water, then said remorsefully: “But it’s too late.”
Zhuo Xiang Ming sat on the edge of the bed, he picked up one of Tong Yan’s legs and placed it on his lap. He started massaging from the lower leg, switching from side to side. Tong Yan remembered that he hadn’t taken off his socks, and asked Zhuo Xiang Ming weakly: “Does my foot stink?”
Zhuo Xiang Ming: “No.”
Tong Yan was relieved, and he moaned in his throat, letting out intermittent ‘oohs’, ‘aahs’, and ‘mhms’. Zhuo Xiang Ming released his leg, and leaned over him, asking: “Today, why are you being so…”
He said: “So …”
Tong Yan turned to look at him: “So what?”
So cute, so coy, so … so misleading.
Zhuo Xiang Ming: “Never mind.”
As he said this, he brushed Tong Yan’s hair out of his eyes again: “Your hair is too long, it’s always blocking your eyes.”
Tong Yan grabbed his finger before he could take it away, saying: “Take me for a haircut after my exams.”
Zhuo Xiang Ming paused. He tried to pull his finger out of Tong Yan’s hold, but Tong Yan firmly held on, after a few back and forths, he unexpectedly couldn’t pull it out.
“Tong Tong …”
“What?” Tong Yan closed his eyes and straightforwardly turned over to face Zhuo Xiang Ming, leaning towards Zhuo Xiang Ming.
This was a bit rogue. Zhuo Xiang Ming didn’t evade, but he also didn’t hug him indulgently like he did at noon, merely saying: “I took a bath this afternoon in order to appear in front of people. I still have to eat dinner later; do you want me to take a third bath today?”
Tong Yan had no choice but to restrain his pheromones. After a moment, he said in a quiet voice, “I don’t want to divorce.”
