I’ll – Li Xudong never speaks in first person. All throughout this exchange he refers to himself as ‘your child’. Considering what they’re doing, I didn’t want the word child involved, lest us fujoshis get an even worse reputation.

Hejin – chinesecio.com “In ancient times, a similar ceremony called Hejin was also widely practiced. He means join together; while jin means gourd ladle, which is made by cutting a gourd in half. As the bride and groom hold a gourd ladle to drink wine, the hejin ceremony symbolizes a harmonious matrimonial life.”

This habit of liking willful people has not changed – I have no idea what he means by this. After googling it seems to have something to do with Confucianism. I wasn’t in the mood to research it, so don’t worry about this sentence.
